Senior Global Trade Counsel (Technology)

What you will do

• Advise business leaders and cross-functional teams on export controls, economic sanctions, customs, import requirements, antiboycott rules, and international trade laws.
• Assess geopolitical developments, tariffs, trade remedies, regulatory actions, and supply-chain risks, providing practical recommendations to senior leadership.
• Guide export jurisdiction and classification, licensing, reexports, retransfers, deemed exports, controlled technology access, and restricted-party screening.
• Support investigations, voluntary and directed disclosures, government inquiries, audits, customs matters, protests, ruling requests, and import compliance issues.
• Develop and improve global trade compliance policies, procedures, training, technology controls, risk assessments, and governance processes.
• Represent hirify.global in interactions with government agencies, regulators, industry associations, outside counsel, and other external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree required; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferred.
• 15+ years of experience advising on international trade, export controls, economic sanctions, customs, or related legal and compliance matters.
• Demonstrated expertise in the EAR, ITAR, OFAC sanctions, and U.S. customs laws.
• Practical experience with export classifications, licensing, deemed exports, technology-control programs, restricted-party screening, customs matters, trade remedies, investigations, and government inquiries.
• Strong ability to explain complex legal and technical requirements to non-legal audiences and collaborate across functions, cultures, and jurisdictions.
• Fluency in English is required.

• Experience in a multinational technology or manufacturing company.
• Knowledge of non-U.S. trade regimes.
• Additional language skills and experience working across Asia, Europe, or other international regions.
