Senior Principal Tool Engineer (Injection Molding)

Location: Remote within the United States, with 50% travel; the role supports collaboration across time zones. The position is based on a U.S. salary and benefits framework.

Salary: $151,200–$226,800 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead the design, build, and process development of injection molding tools for plastic components in new product development.
• Apply plastic part design principles, injection molding guidelines, mold flow analysis, polymer rheology, and 3D CAD tools.
• Guide suppliers and contract manufacturers through tool design, qualification, validation, and testing activities.
• Apply GD&T, limits and fits, tolerance stack-up analysis, and inspection allowances for molded components.
• Use DOE, MSA/Gage R&R, process capability analysis, and SPC to develop robust molding processes.
• Use SPI standards for mold build classification and texture and surface appearance recognition while coordinating cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree; a degree in plastics, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with an advanced degree.
• Experience with crystalline and amorphous plastic resins, including polycarbonate, acrylic, PVC, nylon, and co-polyesters.
• Experience guiding vendor tooling activities and qualifying injection molding tools and components.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required unless eligible for the stated sponsorship policy for Principal-level roles and above.
• For degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

• Medical-device or previous hirify.global experience.
• Molding certifications and component qualification experience.
• Experience preparing test protocols and reports for part and product changes.
• Strong analytical problem solving, organization, communication, initiative, and knowledge transfer skills.
