What you will do

• Execute pre-clinical research and development strategies in the MEAD Lab within the Standardized Organoid Modeling Center.
• Develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for organoid and biomedical engineering research.
• Apply experimental and computational approaches to develop novel technologies, inventions, and products.
• Troubleshoot complex experiments and approaches while supporting colleagues with less experience.
• Analyze research results and contribute to scientific publications, conferences, and patent applications.
• Collaborate with multiple departments as an internal scientific and technical consultant.

Requirements

• PhD from an accredited college or university; foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
• Expertise in tissue engineering or biomedical engineering principles.
• Direct experience with laboratory techniques relevant to tissue engineering or biomedical engineering, including advanced microscopy.
• Experience executing protocols, collecting experimental data, maintaining laboratory records, operating biomedical equipment, and performing quality control.
• Experience analyzing and reporting results, with peer-reviewed publications or similar research products.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and software for statistical analysis, computational modeling, digital image analysis, or scientific computing; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience in organoid engineering, biomaterials manufacturing, extracellular matrix processing, bioreactor design, cell-based or molecular assays, biomedical optics, bioprinting, biophotonics, or prevascularization.
• Competency in at least three of the listed specialization areas.
