Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations (Biotech)

Location: South San Francisco, California, United States; onsite Tuesday–Thursday

Salary: $285,000–$350,000 USD annually, plus stock options and an annual bonus program.

What you will do

• Develop and implement corporate and product communications strategies for external audiences.
• Lead external communications, media relations, corporate positioning, and messaging.
• Advise executive, product, and project teams on communications strategy and message development.
• Create and oversee press releases, fact sheets, talking points, Q&A documents, website content, and other communications materials.
• Coordinate communications across legal, commercial, clinical, medical affairs, research, regulatory, compliance, and HR functions.
• Manage public relations agencies, budgets, program measurement, patient advocacy partnerships, and internal communications initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive communications experience in pharmaceuticals or biotech.
• Experience with public pharmaceutical or biotech companies is required; agency and in-house experience is preferred.
• Strong experience developing and executing communications strategies, media relations programs, and internal and external communications.
• Executive leadership, presentation, analytical, planning, organizational, and business partnering skills.
• Knowledge of commercial compliance and laws and regulations governing the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
• BA/BS required; MBA preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with late-stage programs and commercial product launches.
• PR agency and in-house communications experience.
• MBA.
