Senior Quality Control Data Scientist (Biotechnology)

Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States; onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Salary: $78,700–$128,700 annually

What you will do

• Validate and reconcile instrument-to-LIMS data flows, confirming the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of laboratory data.
• Maintain statistical control limits and Review by Exception logic, investigate out-of-trend signals, and escalate issues using scientific judgment.
• Validate data parsing and transformation configurations for new methods, instrument qualifications, and software releases before data reaches LabWare.
• Build dashboards, reports, and analytics that convert QC data into actionable information for analysts, managers, and stakeholders.
• Apply multivariate analysis, trending, anomaly detection, and machine-learning-supported tools to performance monitoring and technical investigations.
• Support GxP data integrity, ALCOA+, investigations, CAPAs, inspection readiness, and collaboration with QC, laboratory informatics, IT, and OT.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Data Science, Computational Science, or a related field, plus 6+ years of relevant analytical or QC data experience.
• Pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience preferred; a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of analytical and bioassay variability, statistical control limits, trending, and Review by Exception.
• Experience with multivariate methods such as PCA and PLS, anomaly detection, and machine-learning tools.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, ETL, data cleansing, transformation, and programming skills using Python and/or R.
• Experience with JMP, Minitab, SIMCA, Discoverant, MATLAB, Tableau, Spotfire, and Power BI.
