What you will do
- Manage budget, accounting, purchasing, procurement card, payroll, human resources, and travel functions for academic departments.
- Supervise business personnel within the centralized Academic Business HUB and ensure completion of required operational training.
- Support the Dean, Associate Vice President for Academic Operations, Executive Associate Dean, and Library Services with financial and administrative matters.
- Review financial and statistical reports, monitor accounting errors, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Develop and implement financial control procedures, interpret policies, and support compliance activities.
- Manage payroll, personnel actions, leave requests, flexible work schedules, alternate work locations, hiring, development, retention, and evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least five years of related experience in business, accounting, or personnel operations.
- At least two years of supervisory experience.
- Strong initiative, critical thinking, organization, problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Ability to comply with state and federal laws and Texas A&M University System policies and procedures.
- Security-sensitive position requiring a criminal history investigation.
Nice to have
- Experience managing business operations or supervising personnel.
- Experience with Texas A&M financial and human resources systems, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of Concur, Microsoft Office, Excel, FAMIS, AggieBuy, iPay, Workday, Canopy, and Adobe Suite.
- FEMA certification and ability to serve as an Incident Command Team Member.
