Mechanical Test Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's global headquarters

Base Salary: $95,200–$119,000 USD annually. Total Compensation, including base and equity: $105,275–$136,625 USD annually.

What you will do

• Lead qualification and acceptance test campaigns for satellite components and systems.
• Design and implement mechanical test setups, fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed test reports.
• Collaborate with design and systems engineers to define test requirements and ensure compliance.
• Troubleshoot technical issues during testing and improve test processes and infrastructure.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical testing, aerospace, or a related field.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Experience with thermal, vibration, and shock environmental testing.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis tools such as Python or MATLAB.
• For work in U.S. offices, eligibility under U.S. Government ITAR export regulations is required, such as U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or the ability to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with test automation and scripting.
• Familiarity with Confluence and JIRA.
• Experience leading small teams or projects.
