Associate Backend Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Build and maintain backend services, internal tools, and automation in Python.
• Support Linux-based production systems by navigating services, reading logs, and troubleshooting operational issues.
• Write and test MySQL queries against production-scale data and develop query-optimization skills.
• Use AI across coding, debugging, testing, and unfamiliar code exploration while reviewing generated output for correctness and data-safety compliance.
• Pair with senior engineers, participate in code reviews and sprint ceremonies, and produce maintainable production-ready code.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve production incidents with the Hosting team.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of backend development experience.
• Working knowledge of Python, including writing and testing scripts and services.
• Basic Linux systems knowledge, including shell navigation, service-status checks, and log reading.
• Familiarity with MySQL and basic query writing; experience with another relational database may also be considered.
• Ability to use AI throughout the delivery lifecycle, evaluate its failure modes, and follow customer-data prompt boundaries.
• Strong willingness to learn hosting infrastructure and backend fundamentals at scale.

Nice to have

• Exposure to REST APIs, Git workflows, or automation and scripting outside Python.
• Understanding of Perl or basic cPanel concepts.
