Backend Developer (Python)

Location: Barcelona, Spain; hybrid working model

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build scalable, high-performance REST APIs for internal applications.
• Work with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB.
• Design and optimize big data processing pipelines and large-scale transformations using Apache Spark on private cloud clusters.
• Collaborate with data, frontend, and business teams while contributing to modern software architecture.
• Optimize system performance and reliability and manage code versioning with GitHub.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on FastAPI experience.
• Experience with MongoDB, NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, backend architectures, and microservices.
• Strong experience with big data systems, large-scale datasets, and performance optimization of data transformations using Apache Spark.
• Experience with distributed computing environments, including private cloud clusters.
• Familiarity with GitHub or similar version control systems.
• High proficiency in English, written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Experience with Neo4j, Elasticsearch, Microsoft Azure, or data pipelines and analytics systems.
• Background in AI or machine learning, including PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience integrating large language models.
