What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and internal APIs in Python.
- Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based production systems, including performance tuning and root-cause investigations.
- Write and optimize MySQL queries and schemas for high-traffic production data.
- Use AI across development, debugging, testing, and unfamiliar code review while checking generated code for provenance, licensing, security, and compliance risks.
- Modernize legacy and modern codebases, including Perl-based components where applicable.
- Own production troubleshooting, participate in on-call rotation, and contribute to technical design decisions.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of backend development experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Python and Linux systems administration.
- Solid MySQL experience, including query writing, schema design, and performance diagnosis.
- Experience using AI across the software delivery lifecycle and reviewing AI-generated code critically.
- Experience in a collaborative Agile environment with sprint and release discipline.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and ownership of production incidents under pressure.
