Material Handler Team Lead (Manufacturing)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite factory role. Primary assignment is the day shift, with oversight of both day- and night-shift employees. The schedule uses 12-hour compressed-workweek shifts and requires flexibility to support night-shift operations.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, train, and develop a team of six or more Material Handlers.
• Oversee material handling, Clean Street, Tool Center, and other manufacturing support activities.
• Manage workforce planning, labor capacity, resource allocation, and daily operational execution.
• Monitor safety, quality, schedule, and performance metrics while driving corrective actions.
• Identify bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including updates to work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Planning, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and other stakeholders to resolve operational issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education and work experience.
• At least five years of experience in logistics, manufacturing, material handling, supply chain, or similar operations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience through supervision, team coordination, training, mentoring, or project leadership.
• Experience with operational performance, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ability to interpret and communicate operational data and documentation.
• Must be legally authorized to access United States-controlled technology before starting work.

Nice to have

• Associate degree, vocational training, military experience, or related operational experience.
• Experience in high-tech manufacturing, cleanroom operations, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
• SAP/MRP experience.
