Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Location: Hybrid, 3 days in office, in Manchester, Ipswich, or London, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Design, build, and enhance Kubernetes platform capabilities in private cloud environments.
• Develop platform automation using Infrastructure as Code and software engineering practices.
• Manage Kubernetes cluster deployment, upgrades, lifecycle operations, and production transition.
• Integrate networking, monitoring, logging, and security capabilities.
• Improve platform reliability through troubleshooting, incident resolution, and problem management.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, contribute to proofs of concept, and drive continuous service improvement.

Requirements

• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with private cloud or on-premises platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Strong networking fundamentals.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps, and automation practices.

Nice to have

• OpenStack, VMware, Rancher/RKE2, or Cluster API experience.
• Bare-metal provisioning and infrastructure lifecycle management experience.
• Python or Golang scripting and automation experience.
• Enterprise storage, Kubernetes CSI, HashiCorp Vault, PKI, or certificate management experience.
• Telco Cloud knowledge, including SR-IOV, Multus, and DPDK.
