Senior Data Engineer

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Salary: $172,500–$260,100 annually. In selected San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas: $207,800–$285,800 annually.

What you will do

• Design, build, and scale data models and pipelines that transform data from multiple sources into trusted datasets.
• Own the lifecycle of metrics, analytical models, and data products from exploration through production and maintenance.
• Establish data governance, quality standards, metadata practices, and predictable SLA performance.
• Partner with Product, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, and business stakeholders to solve complex problems.
• Use AI-assisted development while maintaining code quality, data quality, and maintainability.
• Lead technical initiatives, promote engineering best practices, and mentor engineers across hirify.global.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software or data engineering experience, including 5+ years in data architecture, modeling, data management, and metadata management.
• Deep SQL expertise and experience building reliable pipelines and transformations for large datasets.
• Proficiency in Python or Java and hands-on experience with Snowflake, Spark, Airflow, and Hive.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, dimensional modeling, star and snowflake schemas, logging, and columnar models.
• Knowledge of data governance, SDLC practices, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder influence, autonomy, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
