Associate Chemist (Organic Extraction)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite laboratory role. Second shift Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM. Training follows the same schedule except for the first day, which starts at 8:45 AM.

Salary: USD 18–20.90 per hour, with a 10% shift differential. Additional information lists a base rate of USD 18–19 per hour.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using approved methods, SOPs, and standard laboratory techniques.
• Focus on organic preparation and extraction while learning applicable analytical disciplines.
• Evaluate and quantify results, record findings, and report unusual test occurrences.
• Complete QC samples, maintain training records, document quality issues, and manage assigned workload.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, glassware, supplies, and work areas.
• Follow health, safety, quality assurance, housekeeping, and sample disposal procedures.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Chemistry or a related field, an associate degree, or two years of related laboratory experience in lieu of a degree.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Ability to work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, specialized equipment, and prolonged standing.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions, manage multiple priorities, and meet quality and schedule requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with PFAS, LC/MS, sample preparation, laboratory work, or production settings.
• Experience with gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, metals, HRMS, radiochemistry, or wet chemistry.
