Supervisor Group Lead - Environment Testing (GC)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA; onsite laboratory work. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with additional hours as needed.

What you will do

• Supervise analysts and coordinate laboratory workload, project priorities, schedules, turnaround times, and productivity.
• Prepare and analyze samples, review and validate analytical data, authorize data release, and complete reports.
• Train analysts on laboratory procedures, equipment, documentation, and safety requirements.
• Create and update standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
• Monitor sample hold times, QC samples, department performance, supplies, safety inspections, and environmental health and safety requirements.
• Support performance reviews, hiring and disciplinary decisions, process improvement, product development, and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, or six years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least four years of laboratory experience and one year of leadership experience with routine and complex laboratory procedures and instruments.
• Previous gas chromatography experience, ideally GC-ECD or GC-FID.
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory operations, analytical procedures, instruments, quality standards, and technical documentation.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.

• Previous supervisory experience in a production laboratory environment.
• Experience with environmental testing.
