TL;DR
Sr. Accountant, Project Finance (Switchgear) (Manufacturing/Project Accounting): Managing plant financial operations, project accounting, month-end close, revenue recognition, and financial reporting with an accent on percentage-of-completion analysis, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Focus on resolving complex billing issues, analyzing labor and productivity variances, and driving cost, cash, and process improvements with cross-functional teams.
Location: Hybrid role based in Fulton, Missouri or Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with four days in the office and one remote day per week. Travel of up to 10–15% annually is required.

What you will do
- Lead month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, general ledger verification, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion analysis.
- Manage project accounting, customer invoicing, billing compliance, and complex invoicing and payment issues.
- Coordinate with Accounts Receivable and Project Management to support timely billing and cash collections.
- Analyze labor, material, productivity, operational performance, and financial variances through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Support internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and internal, external, and customer audits.
- Partner with Project Management, Engineering, and plant leadership on cost, cash, productivity, and operational improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in operational finance, FP&A, or corporate finance; project accounting experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of plant standard costing, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or JDE.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
- Flexibility to support month-end close and travel up to 10–15% annually.
Nice to have
- Experience with OneStream, Tableau, or similar reporting and analytics tools.
- Project accounting experience.
