Principal, Project Controls — Data Center Construction Design & Construction

Location: Onsite at hirify.global's corporate headquarters in the Brickell area of Miami, Florida; willingness to travel 25%+ to project sites across North America is required.

What you will do

• Own project controls for assigned capital construction projects exceeding $100 million, including budgets, cost tracking, forecasts, change management, contingencies, and cash flow projections.
• Develop and validate estimates from conceptual and feasibility stages through GMP validation and buyout, reconciling estimates with actual costs.
• Monitor contractor schedules and cost reports, perform cost and schedule variance analysis, and drive corrective action.
• Review pay applications, change orders, and invoices for accuracy, contract compliance, and budget alignment.
• Partner with FP&A and Accounting on capital planning, accruals, monthly close, project-cost reconciliation, funding draws, and reforecasts.
• Prepare weekly executive reporting and monthly portfolio reports covering budget health, forecast changes, risks, and required decisions; visit active sites to validate progress and percent complete.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, construction finance, or FP&A supporting large capital construction projects.
• Direct experience with projects totaling $500 million or more in installed cost, embedded with project delivery teams.
• Experience challenging and influencing project managers, contractors, vendors, and senior stakeholders through data-driven analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on PMIS experience such as Procore, Kahua, e-Builder, or Unifier; advanced Excel proficiency with complex models, pivot tables, and lookups.
• Ability and willingness to travel 25%+ to project sites across North America and work onsite in Miami.

Nice to have

• Data center, mission-critical, energy, or heavy industrial construction experience.
• NetSuite experience; QuickBooks or comparable ERP/accounting platforms are also relevant.
• Power BI or similar dashboarding experience.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
