TL;DR
Senior Configuration Analyst (DevOps): Building and maintaining software configuration management, release engineering, and deployment processes for VA applications with an accent on cloud migration, automation, source control, and reproducible builds. Focus on designing CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows, resolving build and dependency issues, and leading configuration management practices across regulated environments.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered.
Salary: $74,325–$82,500 per year

What you will do
- Support VA applications and lead migration activities to the cloud.
- Develop and maintain configuration management tools for internally developed and commercial software.
- Perform configuration management, release engineering, build, and deployment activities across multiple environments.
- Design automation and productivity tools using scripting, programming, and database technologies.
- Establish configuration standards, build procedures, and repeatable deployment processes.
- Provide technical guidance, train developers, and mentor junior analysts and engineers.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
- Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) and meet government background investigation requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience; eight or more years may substitute for education.
- Deep experience with software configuration management, release engineering, source control, branching and merging, CI/CD, artifact repositories, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Subversion, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and stakeholder-management skills in regulated or federal environments.
Nice to have
- ITIL Foundation, CMII, or equivalent configuration management certification.
- Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, HL7, or FHIR.
