Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

Location: United Kingdom; primarily remote with occasional visits to the Bristol or London office

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality web applications and reusable frontend capabilities.
• Build real-time conversational experiences supporting streaming responses, dynamic states, structured content, forms, actions, links, and files.
• Define APIs, events, data contracts, and interaction patterns with ML and backend engineers.
• Lead frontend architecture, technical design discussions, code reviews, and complex initiatives through deployment and continuous improvement.
• Optimize experiences for performance, scalability, reliability, browser compatibility, accessibility, security, and observability.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, UX, frontend, backend, ML, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including sophisticated frontend applications.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive design, browser technologies, frontend architecture, state management, and performance.
• Experience with reusable components, RESTful APIs, asynchronous or event-driven experiences, automated frontend testing, CI/CD, observability, and production support.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives, make frontend engineering decisions, communicate across disciplines, and mentor other engineers.
