Communications Specialist, Employment and Economic Opportunity

Location: Remote within the United States or from a U.S. office location; U.S. territories are excluded.

Salary: $96,650–$102,000 USD annual

What you will do

• Translate business development strategies into actionable outreach plans, deliverables, and networking opportunities.
• Develop and execute outreach campaigns supporting brand positioning, thought leadership, and organizational visibility.
• Manage sponsorships, conferences, virtual and in-person events, email promotions, and social media campaigns.
• Support conference planning by preparing agendas and presentations, coordinating promotional materials, and supporting staff participation.
• Coordinate the development and production of event and outreach assets.
• Work with program leadership to track, measure, and report communications and business development outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Experience supporting external clients, managing small teams, and working in a shared services model.
• Experience using tools such as Google Analytics to analyze website performance and traffic and produce analytics reports.
• Experience creating accessible digital content, including GIFs and video, and developing dissemination plans.
• Strong writing, editing, presentation, time management, communications strategy, outreach, and digital marketing skills.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States; employment-based visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of business development strategy and proposal development.
• Familiarity with LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Drupal, and accessible communications technologies.
• Experience advising internal stakeholders and external clients on communications best practices.
