Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid role with travel across France and the Nordics, including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland

What you will do

• Embed with enterprise customers to understand communications workflows, AI use cases, and integration challenges.
• Design and deploy custom solutions using AI Voice Assistants, hirify.global Voice, Messaging, Fax, Wireless APIs, and WebRTC.
• Deploy LLM gateways and self-hosted or hosted models, including routing, fallbacks, rate limits, virtual keys, cost controls, and guardrails.
• Build production observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, and operational runbooks.
• Lead technical discovery, POCs, pilots, production launches, troubleshooting, and customer handoff through a stable go-live.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap using field insights from France and the Nordic countries.

Requirements

• Computer science degree or equivalent experience, plus 3+ years building and operating production software.
• Proficiency in multiple languages, including Python, Node.js/TypeScript, and Go.
• Experience with production model behavior, APIs, event-driven systems, high concurrency, Kafka or message queues, and cloud-native deployments.
• Experience deploying containerized services on Kubernetes and implementing observability with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Graylog, or ELK.
• Customer-facing engineering experience, including technical discovery, executive presentations, whiteboarding, troubleshooting, and escalation management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and French; based in Paris or willing to relocate, with legal authorization to work in France or eligibility for sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI voice assistants, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, conversational LLM systems, or domain evaluation sets.
• Production experience with LiteLLM or another OpenAI-compatible LLM gateway, including model routing and fallback configuration.
• Experience with inference engines such as vLLM, SGLang, TGI, or Ollama and GPU capacity planning.
• Background in SQL, ETL, CI/CD, telecom, CPaaS, SaaS, sovereign or on-premise cloud deployments, and EU regulatory frameworks.
• Security experience covering IAM, encryption, and audit logging.
