Plant Engineering Intern (Bioethanol)

Location: On-site in Lake Crystal, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $22–$23 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

What you will do

• Work with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to improve plant efficiency, production uptime, and operational performance.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and identify process needs affecting production levels.
• Support the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs with maintenance teams and outside vendors.
• Determine applicable equipment, required tools, and inspection frequencies for maintenance activities.
• Analyze data and contribute to process optimization, operating procedures, environmental compliance, and food safety initiatives.
• Work in plant, laboratory, and office environments while following safety requirements and maintaining confidentiality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Junior- or senior-level full-time student at an accredited four-year college or university.
• Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
• Availability for varied shifts and a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Organizational, time-management, communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to perform physical work, including lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces and varying temperatures.

Nice to have

• Familiarity or experience with DCS control and DCS historian systems.
