Operator (Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite in Sheridan, Texas

What you will do

• Operate plant units and equipment, including pumps, compressors, coolers, expanders, and chillers.
• Communicate plant operating conditions with control room operators and shift leads.
• Perform equipment troubleshooting, work-ticket creation, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance support.
• Complete operational, safety, environmental, and regulatory documentation.
• Respond to spills and emergencies, including after-hours callouts, and support first-responder activities.
• Train and oversee contractors, drivers, visitors, and employees when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the company and its insurers.
• Ability to work shifts, overtime, after-hours callouts, and emergency situations.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, climb elevated platforms and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn plant control systems, hand tools, and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Successful completion of a drug screen and background check before employment.

Nice to have

• Experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high- and low-pressure systems.
• Experience analyzing, adjusting, and making minor repairs to pumps and related equipment.
