Drywall Estimator

Location: San Diego, CA

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 annual salary

Construction company hiring an estimator for drywall and related construction project bidding activities.

What you will do

• Plan and manage estimating activities for specific construction projects.
• Review project plans, requirements, specifications, bid forms, and quote letters.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs, conceptual estimates, materials pricing, labor costs, and equipment costs.
• Coordinate subcontractor solicitations, job walks, bid lists, and drawing distribution.
• Compile bids, compare competitive trade bids, and maintain bidding and work schedules.
• Support jobsite staff after bid award, including purchase requisitions and post-bid buyouts when applicable.

Requirements

• Degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of project engineering or related experience.
• Experience with construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, purchasing, and accounting.
• Ability to read and understand construction specifications and drawings.
• Ability to make accurate judgments and calculations, with working knowledge of construction costs and principles.
• Drafting and computer skills; engineering design and project management experience are desirable.
