Executive Director, Program Management (Biotechnology Oncology)

Location: Alameda, California, United States

Salary: $254,500–$361,000 annually, with the range varying by geographic market and candidate qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead multiple complex Discovery and Translational Research, CMC, Phase 1–3 development, filing, approval, and post-approval programs.
• Partner with team leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute product and program strategies.
• Create and maintain integrated project plans, Gantt charts, timelines, status reports, development plans, and filing plans.
• Manage critical paths, dependencies, resources, budgets, governance approvals, risks, and contingency plans.
• Communicate recommendations and program status to executive leadership and governance bodies.
• Lead departmental and enterprise initiatives to improve program management processes, documentation, and templates while managing direct reports.

Requirements

• BS/BA with at least 18 years of relevant experience, MS/MA with at least 16 years, or PhD with at least 15 years in STEM, biological, pharmaceutical, or related fields.
• 15–18 years of experience managing cross-functional teams in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals, including at least 5 years at Director level.
• Extensive experience across discovery, preclinical and clinical development, CMC activities, and filing support.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, negotiation, influencing, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• High proficiency with MS Office Suite, Planisware, MS Project, or equivalent project management software.
• Ability to work in the Alameda, California office location.

Nice to have

• Experience managing small molecules or biologics in cancer immunology or oncology.
• Experience with business development, alliance management, corporate partnerships, or deal leadership.
• Experience across at least two different development functions or phases.
