U.S. Senior Import Specialist

What you will do

• Determine and document Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications using General Rules of Interpretation, Section and Chapter Notes, and CBP rulings.
• Oversee customs valuation, import entry reviews, broker filings, post-entry corrections, and prior disclosures.
• Manage country-of-origin determinations, USMCA and other duty preference programs, and supporting documentation.
• Manage Foreign Trade Zone admissions, inventory controls, zone status, weekly entries, reconciliations, and audits.
• Identify duty savings through FTZ utilization, duty drawback, tariff engineering, and other compliant trade programs.
• Lead broker oversight, audits, training, cross-functional advisory support, process improvement, and trade compliance automation.

Requirements

• Experienced subject matter expertise in U.S. import regulations and Customs compliance.
• Strong knowledge of tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin, trade agreements, and CBP requirements.
• Experience with Foreign Trade Zone operations, inventory control and recordkeeping systems, reconciliations, and audits.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, gap analyses, corrective action planning, and import compliance training.
• Ability to collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, Logistics, IT, and data teams.
