Art Director

Location: San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, OR, or Austin, TX. Hybrid arrangement: onsite five days per week for 2–3 months at a time on specific projects; remote at other times.

Salary: $110k–$140k annual base compensation.

What you will do

• Lead visual development for end-to-end digital website projects and establish clear design direction.
• Create distinctive, forward-thinking, on-brand digital design solutions that answer project briefs.
• Partner with Creative Directors, Designers, Copy, UX, Motion, Production, Account, and client stakeholders.
• Present complex design concepts and digital interactions to internal teams and senior client audiences.
• Guide designers through exploration and execution, providing feedback while encouraging ownership.
• Champion agile design processes, prioritize resources, and establish practices that improve quality and consistency.

Requirements

• Significant experience in digital design and art direction, with a track record of leading projects and delivering pixel-perfect digital work.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong client collaboration, presentation, and creative decision-making skills.
• Mastery of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Keynote.
• Proficiency in Figma and Sketch.
• Experience mentoring and guiding designers at different levels.

Nice to have

• Experience with motion, prototyping, or emerging creative technologies.
• Experience working both in-house and at creative agencies.
