Lead AI Architect (Healthcare AI)

What you will do

• Define the architectural vision, standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks for the enterprise AI platform and AI-enabled products.
• Lead the evolution and integration of agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge systems, intelligent automation, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
• Guide strategic decisions on cloud providers, model hosting, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, AI infrastructure, and build-versus-buy options.
• Lead architecture reviews covering system design, scalability, resilience, interoperability, security, compliance, and cost optimization.
• Develop multi-year technology roadmaps and reusable architecture patterns for consistent, secure, and maintainable AI solutions.
• Mentor AI engineers and technical leaders while providing hands-on leadership through prototypes, proof-of-concepts, design reviews, and critical problem resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, machine learning, data engineering, solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or related technical leadership roles.
• 8+ years of experience designing enterprise AI, machine learning, analytics, or intelligent automation solutions.
• Deep knowledge of generative AI, agentic AI, RAG, NLP, information retrieval, model adaptation, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and PEFT.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud, application, integration, data, security, and AI architectures using platforms such as Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Databricks, AWS Bedrock, or SageMaker.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, DevSecOps, MLOps, platform engineering, security principles, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise technology roadmaps.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience as an enterprise, AI, principal, solution, or strategic architect.
• Experience building AI solutions in regulated industries, especially healthcare, using FHIR, HL7, claims data, clinical data, medical coding systems, or knowledge graphs.
• Experience with responsible AI, model risk management, open-weight foundation models, multi-agent platforms, or large-scale AI transformation initiatives.
• Open-source contributions, patents, publications, conference presentations, or other thought leadership.
