Software Engineer III (Fullstack, React, TypeScript, Java)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $102,300–$147,050 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Build and maintain full-stack payroll applications using React and TypeScript, Java services, REST APIs, and SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and support complex software across front-end, backend, and data layers.
• Lead feature and project delivery, manage priorities and deadlines, and contribute to architectural and design reviews.
• Review code and maintain standards for quality, performance, observability, maintainability, and automated testing.
• Identify and resolve service issues, use telemetry to optimize performance, and prevent recurring incidents.
• Collaborate with engineering, Product Management, UX, and external teams while mentoring junior engineers and documenting solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least six years of professional software development experience and strong full-stack web application development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, React, TypeScript, SQL, REST APIs, and SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing using tools such as JUnit, React Testing Library, Selenium, or Cucumber.
• Experience using AI development tools such as Claude, Copilot, or Windsurf, plus GitHub, Jira, cloud technologies, and DevOps principles.
• Strong communication, collaboration, software design, and development practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Agile methodologies, accessible and internationalized web applications, or AI spec-driven development.
• Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership.
