Principal Software Engineer (Salesforce)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with hybrid work arrangements; applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

What you will do

• Define the long-term technical direction and enterprise solution architecture for Salesforce.
• Establish reusable application, API, eventing, integration, security, reliability, and governance patterns.
• Influence technical decisions across multiple teams and platforms without formal reporting authority.
• Lead high-impact initiatives, resolve cross-team technical blockers, and drive modernization and technical debt strategies.
• Mentor engineers through design guidance, code reviews, pairing, and communities of practice.
• Influence AI-native engineering patterns, adoption strategy, governance, and productivity measurement.

Requirements

• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent and 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expert experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Salesforce technical design, platform limitations, security, and scalable architecture.
• Advanced Salesforce development skills with Apex, SOQL, SOSL, triggers, batch and scheduled classes, flows, data modeling, Lightning Web Components, Aura, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Salesforce APIs, REST/SOAP integrations, Git, source control, CI/CD, troubleshooting, system design artifacts, and enterprise governance.
• Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies, distributed systems, cloud technologies, observability, and regulated or enterprise-scale environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with the SAFe agile framework.
• Experience in a technology ecosystem outside Salesforce.
• Experience operating in regulated, complex environments.
