Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native)

Location: United States; remote-first. Candidates must meet U.S. federal eligibility requirements and may need to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Eligibility to access export-controlled information under EAR and ITAR is required.

Salary: $165,000–$215,000 per year

What you will do

• Architect and improve the React Native and TypeScript mobile application for disconnected, denied, intermittent, and limited-connectivity environments.
• Improve synchronization, recovery, connection lifecycle handling, crash-free performance, release health, startup, networking, storage, rendering, memory, and battery usage.
• Own iOS and Android integrations, native and cross-platform boundaries, push notifications, background execution, secure storage, app lifecycle, and real-time communications.
• Support App Store, enterprise, MDM, AppConfig, and Intune MAM distribution and diagnose production issues using telemetry, native traces, device profiling, and field logs.
• Make mobile architecture recommendations, mentor engineers, uphold security and compliance standards, and contribute to the open-source codebase.
• Use AI coding tools and coding agents to increase engineering output while maintaining reliability and quality.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in iOS or Android development and strong working knowledge of the other platform.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, platform SDKs, lifecycle constraints, networking, synchronization, recovery, and unreliable connectivity.
• Strong mobile performance profiling and production debugging experience on real devices.
• Experience using crash metrics, production data, and release-health signals to improve reliability and owning technical outcomes.
• Ability and willingness to work across native and cross-platform codebases, with AI fluency and experience using coding agents.
• U.S. federal eligibility and export-control eligibility are required; security clearance may be required.

Nice to have

• React Native and TypeScript experience.
• Experience with mobile persistence, synchronization, or offline-capable systems.
• Experience with WebRTC, CallKit, Android audio APIs, enterprise mobile distribution, MDM, AppConfig, or Intune MAM.
• Experience in security-sensitive, regulated, or operationally constrained environments.
• Open-source contributions.
