Entry Writer (Customs Clearance)

Location: On-site customs-clearance operations at a domestic port in the United States

What you will do

• Prepare and compile federal government documents for the discharge of foreign cargo at domestic ports.
• Coordinate daily customs clearance activities and monitor customs brokers’ procedures and reports.
• Act as the main contact for existing and new customers and support effective communication with importers and transportation providers.
• Apply standard operating procedures to meet customer-specific requirements.
• Enter and verify system data, prepare invoices, check costs, and close completed jobs.
• Support customer meetings and complete related assignments from the team leader.

Requirements

• Experience or knowledge relevant to customs clearance, import documentation, freight, or logistics operations.
• Ability to coordinate with importers, customs brokers, shipping companies, airlines, railroads, trucking companies, pipeline operators, and the United States Customs Service.
• Accuracy in document preparation, data entry, invoice checking, and job closing.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and meet customer-specific requirements.
• Availability for on-site work connected with domestic port and customs-clearance operations in the United States.
