Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration (HVAC/Refrigeration)

Location: Lexington, North Carolina, United States; onsite facility services role

Salary: $29.00–$58.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour depending on schedule, facility, season, or work performed.

What you will do

• Install, configure, calibrate, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in racks, walk-ins, reach-ins, controls, ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations, OSHA standards, and EPA refrigerant-handling requirements.
• Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Manage service calls, documentation, external providers, and safe operation of company vehicles.

Requirements

• Either a vocational or technical HVAC/R certification plus 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related work, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Current EPA Type I and Type II or Universal certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman qualification where required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no recent disqualifying violations, preventable accidents, or serious traffic violations.
• Ability to read layout plans, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and building codes; operate tools, heavy machinery, and company vehicles safely.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
