C# Developer (.NET): Building and supporting enterprise-level software systems for the Department of Veterans Affairs using .NET, C#, APIs, databases, and CI/CD pipelines with an accent on full-stack backend development, testing, integration, and production support. Focus on designing reusable solutions, optimizing application performance, applying secure software engineering practices, and coordinating development initiatives within an Agile environment.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, or New York will not be considered. U.S. citizenship is required, along with eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.
Salary: $85,389–$116,975 annually

What you will do
- Plan requirements, testing, system integration, installation, operation, maintenance, and technical support for software systems.
- Develop and support .NET backend applications using C#, MVC, RESTful APIs, databases, and Entity Framework.
- Build, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications through CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve application performance, quality, responsiveness, modularity, and reusability within an Agile framework.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and development colleagues, participate in stand-ups, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
- Document software designs, data flows, modules, and technical solutions using tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, and Git.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, object-oriented programming, design patterns, MVC, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
- At least five years of professional software development experience with .NET technologies, including complex and enterprise-level projects.
- Bachelor’s degree with eight or more years of experience, Master’s degree with five or more years, or Ph.D. with three or more years in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience with unit testing, CI/CD, version control, Agile methodologies, DevOps, infrastructure as code, security practices, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Git, TFS/TFVC, and testing tools such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, including 837, 834, and 277 transactions.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
