TL;DR
C# Developer (.NET/Azure/AWS): Building and supporting enterprise-level software systems for the Department of Veterans Affairs with an accent on full-stack .NET development, REST APIs, database engineering, and CI/CD delivery. Focus on designing scalable solutions, implementing automated testing and security practices, optimizing application performance, and integrating software within Agile development teams.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, or New York will not be considered
Salary: $85,389–$116,975 per year

What you will do
- Plan, design, integrate, test, deploy, operate, maintain, and support software systems and subsystems.
- Develop .NET back-end applications in C# using MVC architecture, RESTful APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Design databases and build data access solutions with SQL Server and Entity Framework.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, modular components, and reusable solutions within an Agile framework.
- Monitor application quality, responsiveness, security, and performance, including production support and optimization.
- Document software designs, conduct code reviews, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- Five or more years of professional software development experience using .NET technologies, with a track record of complex enterprise projects and development initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, object-oriented programming, design patterns, MVC, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, and Entity Framework.
- Experience with Azure or AWS, Git or TFS/TFVC, CI/CD tools, unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest, and development environments including Visual Studio.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, infrastructure as code, web and API security, performance tuning, and application optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree with eight or more years of experience, master’s degree with five or more years, or Ph.D. with three or more years in a relevant technical discipline.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, including 837, 834, and 277 transactions.
- Knowledge of microservices, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, or Amazon EKS.
