Lead Full Stack Developer (Python)

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid work with potential attendance at the hirify.global or client office five days per week based on business needs

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and guide teams through software consulting and delivery from ideation to production.
• Design pragmatic technical solutions, select technologies, and translate business needs into software requirements.
• Write clean, reusable code and champion TDD, pair programming, design patterns, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
• Build features, design concepts, and interactive prototypes while embedding UX specifications and engineering best practices.
• Apply DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy secure software, keeping security involved early in development.
• Coach developers, mentor less experienced peers, and foster an inclusive and supportive team culture.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of full-stack development experience with Python or Node.js and React.
• Experience with object-oriented programming and leading software development teams using Agile, Lean, or continuous delivery approaches.
• Knowledge of TDD, continuous integration, pair programming, and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, develop a technical vision, and balance business value with technical excellence.
• Ability to mentor peers, navigate ambiguity, and continue hands-on coding as a technical leader.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with functional programming, event-driven architecture, or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with hirify.global Technology Radar practices.
