Test Engineer II - Mervue (Medtech)

Location: Galway, County Galway, Ireland

Salary: €49,920–€74,880 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Design, develop, integrate, and support automated hardware test systems for electro-mechanical products.
• Develop and maintain specifications for in-circuit and functional testing.
• Support production test operations, manufacturing equipment, installation, commissioning, and validation of new test systems.
• Troubleshoot hardware, electrical, and system-level failures involving fixtures, instrumentation, cabling, interfaces, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Analyze test data and performance trends to improve yield, reliability, test coverage, and efficiency.
• Maintain and optimize electronic and mechanical test systems while meeting quality, regulatory, environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Level 8 degree in Electronic Engineering and at least 2 years of experience in electronic design, hardware engineering, or test development.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, automated test systems, embedded hardware, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts.
• Practical troubleshooting experience across analog, digital, power, and interface circuits, including motors, sensors, actuators, and mechanical integration.
• Experience with validation, verification, design transfer, production implementation, or manufacturing process changes.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, DMAIC, or other continuous improvement methods, with strong documentation and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments, preferably involving capital equipment.
• Experience with fixture and interface development, hardware failure investigation, and production test support.
