2027 Graduate Process Engineer - Orthopedics

Location: Ringaskiddy, Cork, Ireland; hands-on manufacturing role in an orthopedic device facility.

Base pay: €34,800.00–€55,775.00 per year.

What you will do

• Support day-to-day manufacturing by monitoring process performance, reviewing data, and resolving technical issues.
• Investigate process variation, scrap, yield loss, rework, deviations, and non-conformances using structured problem-solving methods.
• Contribute to Lean, process excellence, safety, quality, delivery, cost, and process capability improvement projects.
• Develop technical expertise in foundry manufacturing, including wax patterns, ceramic shells, metal melting and pouring, solidification, casting finishing, and porous coating interfaces.
• Support process characterization, capability studies, control charting, Design of Experiments, equipment qualification, and process validation.
• Prepare technical documentation and communicate findings with Operations, Quality, Validation, Asset Reliability, Project Engineering, innovation, and supplier teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Recent graduate from 2026 or graduating in 2027.
• Strong interest in materials behavior, metallurgy, manufacturing processes, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret manufacturing, materials, and quality data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and patient-focused manufacturing.

Nice to have

• Internship, placement, laboratory, research, or final-year project experience in engineering or manufacturing.
• Exposure to metallurgy, casting, metal additive manufacturing, heat treatment, materials characterization, or failure analysis.
• Experience with statistical software, Design of Experiments, process capability tools, Lean manufacturing, or regulated manufacturing principles.
