Director, Solutions Engineering (SAP HANA Performance)

Location: Walldorf, Germany; the role includes deploying infrastructure in the SAP Linux lab and working with SAP Headquarters

Salary: EUR €194,000–€292,000 OTE per year

What you will do

• Lead remote employees and subcontractors benchmarking SAP HANA and related SAP components on bare-metal servers and hirify.global AHV.
• Deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize SAP HANA environments, Linux platforms, storage, networking, CPU, memory, and NUMA configurations.
• Run SAP validation and certification suites, analyze KPI thresholds and failures, and drive full-stack root-cause investigations.
• Define hirify.global best practices, sizing guidelines, configuration recommendations, test plans, reference architectures, and SAP submission materials.
• Collaborate with core engineering teams, SAP stakeholders, hardware OEMs, customers, and hirify.global sellers on certifications and strategic SAP HANA deals.
• Support infrastructure automation using APIs, Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, and explore AI-based process automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of SAP HANA infrastructure or database performance engineering experience, including at least 2 years with virtualized HANA.
• Deep Linux experience with SLES for SAP or RHEL for SAP, performance tuning, observability tools, NUMA, hugepages, scheduling, and I/O optimization.
• Experience with hirify.global HCI, AHV/AOS, virtualization performance, distributed storage, and SAP HANA scale-up and scale-out architectures.
• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA validation and certification test harnesses and interpretation of storage latency, throughput, and other KPI results.
• Strong communication skills in English and German for customer and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work with hardware infrastructure in Walldorf, Germany.

Nice to have

• SAP HANA hardware, HCI, or cloud certification submission experience.
• SAP HANA System Replication, scale-out, and HA/DR validation under fault injection.
• SAP application-layer benchmarking, including SD benchmark, BW/4HANA, or S/4HANA workloads.
• hirify.global NCP/NCM or SAP HANA Technology certification.
