Hardware Staff Engineer (Embedded Electronics)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of embedded electronic hardware for monitoring, protection, recording, and industrial instrumentation products.
• Translate system and product requirements into reliable, manufacturable, compliant, and cost-effective hardware designs.
• Design and review analogue, mixed-signal, digital, power, communications, and PCB solutions for mission-critical industrial applications.
• Lead schematic design, component selection, simulation, design verification, laboratory evaluation, and hardware design reviews.
• Drive technical investigations, root-cause analysis, risk mitigation, validation, qualification, compliance testing, and production release activities.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to technology roadmaps, and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary product teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience developing complex embedded electronic hardware from concept through production and lifecycle support.
• Demonstrated expertise in mixed-signal, analogue, digital, and embedded electronic system design.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, thermal management, reliability, and industrial product design.
• Experience with embedded processors, communication interfaces, data acquisition systems, sensing technologies, industrial networking, verification, validation, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong technical leadership, communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, mentoring, and cross-functional decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ARM-based embedded systems, Linux platforms, real-time systems, or FPGA-based solutions.
• Knowledge of power system monitoring, protection, fault recording, power quality, condition monitoring, or substation automation.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104, GPS, GNSS, IRIG-B, IEEE 1588 PTP, or NTP.
• Experience with embedded cybersecurity, electrical safety, EMC compliance, environmental qualification, CE, UL, IEC, or IEEE requirements.
• Experience with DFM, DFT, DFS, reliability engineering, component lifecycle management, simulation, test automation, or hardware validation.
