Core Java Developer (Fintech)

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid work with at least 2 days per week in the office

A global financial technology company developing and operating trading platforms for clients across APAC and international markets.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement software solutions for an electronic trading platform.
• Support APAC clients and maintain software reliability, performance, and quality.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues in Sydney and global teams.
• Improve code quality, structure, and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with overseas teams and customers across time zones, including occasional work outside core hours.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Professional software engineering experience with Java, Maven, and Git.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• Business-level English proficiency is required.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required.
• Availability for a hybrid schedule with at least 2 days per week in the Sydney office is required.

Nice to have

• Experience building and deploying containerized applications.
• Familiarity with FIX, ITCH, or OUCH financial exchange protocols.
• Experience collaborating with global teams in financial technology.
