Shift Lead (Fleet Operations)

Location: Leonberg, Germany; onsite at the Leonberg office during operating hours. Remote work from other locations is permitted only by exception and may require attendance at short notice.

What you will do

• Lead Vehicle Safety Operators during assigned shifts, providing guidance, support, and direction.
• Manage schedules, task allocation, operational performance, and key performance indicators.
• Monitor on-road testing quality, enforce safety protocols, and escalate issues to Quality Assurance.
• Act as the initial point of contact for on-road incidents and support major incident management.
• Coordinate individual and team training with the Quality Assurance team.
• Prepare operational reports and implement process improvements.

Requirements

• Full clean German driving licence and at least five years of driving experience in Europe.
• Proven experience as a team coordinator or in a similar leadership role.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage fatigue, stress, and wellbeing effectively.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
• Fluent English and German. A health check and random drug and alcohol testing are required.

Nice to have

• Experience leading vehicle testing, working in autonomous vehicle environments, or conducting technical demonstrations.
• Knowledge of autonomous vehicle technology or autonomous systems.
• T1 and T2 Bertha certification.
