Localization Specialist, German

What you will do

• Translate and edit in-game text, UI strings, and basic marketing content from English into natural, culturally appropriate German.
• Apply style guides, glossaries, and tone-of-voice documentation to maintain linguistic consistency.
• Collaborate with senior linguists and QA to review linguistic bugs, provide clarifications, and support resolutions.
• Assist with terminology verification, language-resource updates, and localization test passes.
• Track tasks and maintain documentation in XLOC, Confluence, Jira, and other localization or project-management tools.
• Flag unclear instructions and suggest improvements to documentation and workflows.

Requirements

• Native-level German fluency with strong grammar and written communication skills.
• Fluent English for reading, communication, and collaboration.
• Experience in translation, linguistic QA, localization coursework, or a related academic field.
• Basic organizational skills and the ability to follow guidelines and meet deadlines.
• Interest in gaming, cross-cultural communication, and in-language content quality.
• A bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, media, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with localization workflows or content-management tools.
• Experience with localization testing and terminology management.
