VP Robotics Engineering

Location: London, England, United Kingdom. Virtual/hybrid working model, location dependent. International travel to OEM partners, customers, and flagship events in Europe, the US, and parts of Asia is required.

What you will do

• Define and build the agent-first integration architecture between the hirify.global suite and robotics OEM platforms.
• Develop an abstraction layer for dispatchable and auditable heterogeneous robot fleets.
• Build integrations for work-order dispatch, mission orchestration, telemetry, inspection data, assets, and service records.
• Evaluate OEM platforms and guide investment in robotics integrations.
• Represent hirify.global in technical engagements with robot OEMs, foundation model providers, and interoperability bodies.
• Hire and lead the robotics integration engineering team, deliver customer scenarios and demos, and brief executives and customers.

Requirements

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including enterprise-scale integration or platform architecture.
• Hands-on SDK- and API-level experience with at least two major robot OEM ecosystems.
• Production experience with agentic systems, tool use, function calling, and long-running autonomous task orchestration.
• Working knowledge of robotics middleware, including ROS 2, DDS, VDA 5050, MassRobotics Interoperability Standard, and Open-RMF.
• Expert-level Python and TypeScript, ability to read C++, and production experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, CI/CD, and edge deployment.
• Experience leading engineering teams, working with external engineering partners, and communicating at executive level.

• Experience connecting robots or autonomous systems to ERP, EAM, WMS, MES, or field-service systems.
• Exposure to utilities, manufacturing, aviation, energy, logistics, or other asset-intensive domains.
• Experience in an OEM or fleet-management engineering organisation.
• Participation in standards bodies or interoperability consortia.
• Experience building a new engineering capability inside a larger organisation.
