TL;DR
Mechanical Forward Deployed Engineer (AI): Embedding with enterprise mechanical engineering customers to optimize CoLab workflows, integrations, and AI tools such as AutoReview and Operator with an accent on PLM data, engineering feedback, and AI-generated result validation. Focus on solving complex PLM, ERP, QMS, and design-tool integration challenges, testing repeatable workflows, and shaping product capabilities through customer projects.
Location: Remote within Eastern or Central time zones in Canada or the US. The role includes customer travel, typically 1–3 days once or twice per month.

What you will do
- Embed with enterprise customers to optimize their use of CoLab, especially AI tools such as AutoReview and Operator.
- Investigate and solve engineering data and integration challenges across PLM, ERP, QMS, and design feedback systems.
- Test and implement CoLab workflows in customer environments with cross-functional partners.
- Collaborate with product teams to identify feature gaps, improve capabilities, and refine AutoReview.
- Create technical documentation, playbooks, and repeatable frameworks from successful projects.
- Apply mechanical engineering expertise to validate AI-generated results and maintain engineering rigor.
Requirements
- Background in mechanical design engineering, ideally in a medium- to large-sized organization.
- Strong understanding of PLM systems and enterprise engineering data architecture.
- Experience leading technical projects and cross-functional collaborations.
- Experience solving technical problems with customers or internal stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of high-level AI architecture, specifically large language models.
- Familiarity with APIs, data integrations, enterprise architecture concepts, and technical documentation.
Nice to have
- Experience developing internal tools, scripting, or automation.
- Exposure to AI/ML tools applied to engineering workflows.
- Experience in design consulting or large-scale product development.
