TL;DR
Forward Deployed Engineer (AI) (NLP/LLMs/Speech): Building and deploying production-ready AI solutions in complex customer environments with an accent on agentic workflows, enterprise integrations, and operational quality. Focus on implementing Python services, Azure-based architectures, structured LLM orchestration, and reliable deployment across real-world systems.
Location: Hybrid work in Cologne, Munich, or Lisbon; fully remote work is not available.

What you will do
- Analyze customer business processes, decision logic, data relationships, and technical requirements.
- Design and implement end-to-end AI systems using NLP, LLMs, speech models, agentic workflows, orchestration, and tool integrations.
- Build production-ready Python applications, APIs, integrations, and backend components with reliable error handling and observability.
- Apply structured LLM patterns including tool calling, schema validation, retries, fallbacks, monitoring, and guardrails.
- Deploy and integrate AI solutions in enterprise Azure environments while contributing to architecture and delivery decisions.
- Work directly with customers, Engineering Managers, Cloud AI Architects, and QA during workshops and implementation phases.
Requirements
- Very senior, hands-on experience in applied AI and software engineering, with strong ownership and delivery focus.
- Strong practical experience with NLP, LLMs, speech models, agent-based or multi-agent systems, and production AI trade-offs.
- Excellent Python skills, including parallel and asynchronous programming; experience with FastAPI, async IO, Pydantic, testing, and clean architecture.
- Experience with production APIs, enterprise integrations, CI/CD, reliability, security, observability, and cost control.
- Strong understanding of Azure deployment and infrastructure, including Managed Identity, Key Vault, monitoring, and basic networking.
- Candidates based in Germany must have business-level German and English; candidates based in Portugal must have business-level English.

- Experience with Databricks.
