Weather Analytics Internship Program

Location: Berlin, Germany; full-time, on site. The six-month internship runs from 15 February to 12 August 2027, and applicants must be available to start on 15 February 2027.

What you will do

• Work with the Weather Analytics team on technical, analytical, and data visualisation projects.
• Develop, test, and improve APIs and tools for accessing and distributing weather data and products.
• Analyse, process, and interpret complex weather datasets using Python and relevant weather ecosystem tools.
• Support the visualisation of weather products in AD and other internal platforms.
• Build knowledge of numerical weather prediction, AI weather models, weather data formats, and forecasting products.
• Present findings, outputs, and technical progress to weather, analytics, trading, technology, and commercial stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong academic background in Computer Science, Atmospheric Sciences, Meteorology, or a related technical or quantitative discipline.
• Strong Python skills and the ability to analyse, manipulate, and interpret complex datasets.
• Practical experience applying data analysis, coding, or quantitative methods through academic, research, internship, personal, or similar projects.
• Demonstrable interest in weather, forecasting, climate, energy markets, or commodities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Business-level English proficiency and availability to start the six-month internship on 15 February 2027.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with weather ecosystem tools such as ECMWF ecCodes.
• Knowledge of numerical weather prediction, AI weather models, weather data formats, or meteorological datasets.
• Experience with APIs, data visualisation, dashboards, or internal tooling.
• Exposure to energy, power, renewable energy, or commodities markets.
