Mechanical Engineer

Location: Headquarters in Vindafjord (Nedre Vats) or Oslo (Lysaker), Norway; candidates across Europe must be open to relocating to Norway.

hirify.global develops automated storage systems built around aluminium Grids, robots, and Bins for storing and moving goods.

What you will do

• Develop next-generation Bins and continuously improve existing Bin, Grid, and related products.
• Create and modify 3D models, mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in Autodesk Inventor.
• Participate in technical design reviews and contribute to engineering decisions.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate product and system testing to validate requirements and improve designs.
• Evaluate materials, specifications, and manufacturing requirements for consistent performance in high-volume production.
• Support the full product lifecycle from concepts and prototypes through validation, mass production, sustaining engineering, and technical investigations.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in mechanical product development, including design, prototyping, testing, validation, and design iterations.
• Strong understanding of materials and material properties and their impact on product design, performance, and manufacturing.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD, mechanical design, drawings, specifications, requirements, tolerances, and engineering documentation.
• Practical experience with prototyping, test setups, technical data, and design verification.
• Relevant technical education is preferred, but a university degree is not required with strong practical engineering experience.
• Willingness to work at the Vindafjord or Oslo location and relocate to Norway if required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and PLM systems.
• Experience with plastics or metal manufacturing, including injection molding, tooling, DFM, sheet metal, or extruded aluminium.
