TL;DR
Accountant (SAP/US GAAP): Preparing and analyzing financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close, and producing statutory and management reports with an accent on compliance, internal controls, and financial data accuracy. Focus on account reconciliations, audit collaboration, process automation, and system enhancements in a hybrid Penang-based role.
Location: Penang, Malaysia; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned site and off-site work.

What you will do
- Prepare and maintain financial records in line with US GAAP, local accounting standards, and internal policies.
- Support monthly and annual financial close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders, including statutory and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with external auditors, government authorities, and cross-functional teams during audits and reporting cycles.
- Maintain internal controls and SOX compliance while identifying process improvement and automation opportunities.
- Participate in system upgrades, data validation, user acceptance testing, and finance automation projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; 1–2 years of accounting experience and a strong double-entry accounting background are valued.
- Proficiency in SAP or an equivalent ERP system.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with US GAAP compliance and financial reporting standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and financial data management skills.
Nice to have
- Membership in or active pursuit of CPA, ACCA, MICPA, or MIA certification.
- Experience with Power BI, Python, Power Automate, or SQL scripting.
- Ability to adapt to ambiguity and dynamic environments while maintaining focus on results.
