V.I.E Mechatronics AIT Technician (Space Industry)

Location: Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany; hands-on work with electrical and mechanical assembly in accordance with space-industry standards.

What you will do

• Pre-assemble and integrate mechanical components such as brackets, spacers, and fastening systems.
• Install and route electrical components within complex system architectures.
• Integrate sensors, thermistors, heaters, accelerometers, and other test and measurement equipment.
• Perform electrical and mechanical assembly in accordance with space-industry standards.
• Support verification, testing, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements

• EU citizenship and graduate status are required; candidates must be aged 18–28 for the V.I.E. programme.
• Completed training in electrical engineering, such as technician training, or a comparable qualification.
• Hands-on experience with cabling and connection technologies, including crimping, clamping, and soldering.
• Experience with electrical integration, connectors, grounding systems, wiring, mechanical assembly tools, and fastening systems.
• Experience handling measurement and test equipment, including sensor systems and temperature measurement tools.
• Strong communication skills in English are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of ESA-certified processes for electrical and mechanical integration.
